	SPIKENARD 12ml Nardostachys jatamansi Steam distilled from the rhizomes. Country of origin..Egypt. Woody, musty and earthy, well known from The Bible as it was used by Mary Magdalene to anoint the feet of Jesus at the Last Supper. This calming oil contains among others a chemical compound called valerenal, a natural sedative. It is closely related in aromatherapy to valerian. 	VALERIAN 12ml Valerian officinalis Steam Distilled from the roots of the plant. The key active ingredient (valepotriates) are thought to be responsible for it's sedative effect on the central nervous system. As such it may be a useful addition to a calming or sleep blend used in an aromatherapy oil burner. The botanical name  ("achillea" millefolium),  is hence derived from name Achilles.
